The amount of time varies from patient to patient. On average, traditional braces can require 2-3 years of treatment. But the braces we use at Shoe Orthodontics can give you a beautiful smile in 12-18 months on average! We'll let you know your precise treatment time at your free, initial consultation.Â
You may feel some discomfort the first few days after getting your braces as your teeth begin to move. You may also have mild discomfort after any adjustments. Otherwise, you shouldn't have pain from your braces.Â
There are many signs you might need braces. Crooked teeth are the most obvious, but there are other signs. Speech issues, problems chewing your food, even snoring could be indications that you need braces. We provide a free, no-obligation evaluation to determine whether you need braces.Â
You can expect excellent results from the most tried-and-true method of moving teeth! Metal braces have been used to solve even the most severe orthodontic issues. We think you'll love the results from your metal braces!Â
Absolutely! You're never too old for a beautiful smile! We treat many adult patients, some of whom opt for our metal braces. It may take a bit more time for treatment because adult teeth move slower than children's, but you'll still get the same amazing results!Â
There are certain food restrictions with braces. Hard, sticky, or chewy foods can damage your wires or brackets and should be avoided. Gum, popcorn, hard candies, caramels, raw vegetables, tortilla chips, and similar foods are on the "no" list while you're in braces. Once your treatment is done, you can go back to enjoying these foods.Â
