One of the great treatment options, especially for adults, is an option that masks the treatment from others on a day-to-day basis. If you’re a grown-up and don’t want to answer many questions about why you chose to get braces now or why your parents didn’t get them for you, then we have options.
To start with, there are ceramic braces. Ceramic braces are made of, well, you know, ceramic material. It’s the bracket that is ceramic. Ceramic braces are very similar to the traditional metal braces you often see people wear. There’s a bracket, a wire, and adjustments every few weeks. The difference is that the ceramic brackets can be clear, making them hard to notice, or they can be tinted to match your teeth, so they blend in even better. It’s an excellent option for people whose treatments might require a more traditional approach.
You also have the option of clear aligners. Clear aligners are nothing like traditional braces at all. A 3-D scan is taken of your mount, and a clear tray comes to you, designed to move your teeth around to take care of your smile and bite. Every couple of weeks, a newer, more adjusted tray comes in, and you take the old one out and put the new one on. You only take it out to brush and floss. Otherwise, it’s in there doing its job. It’s a great option for many folks.
The contrasts between ceramic braces and clear aligners are there, but the similarity is that they are good options for folks who want to keep their orthodontic work a bit low profile. If you’re interested in either clear braces or clear aligners, set up an appointment with Shoe Orthodontics, and we’ll get you started on the road to the smile you’ve always wanted.
